Several times a year we make an effort to take the 2 hour drive north to visit one of our favorite places, Sedona. During the summer months we like to find a great camping spot along the 89A about halfway between downtown Sedona and Flagstaff. Its secluded, quiet and the views are amazing! As the winter months come, and the snow falls over Red Rock Country its a must to see. The whole city has this calming affecting over you and seems to center your mind, body and soul. There are so many hidden jewels around every corner if you don’t keep your eyes open, you could miss them.
During this visit we stayed at the Los Abrigados Resort and Spa which had fun things for both adults and kids to do for no extra costs. They had a life size chess board, Shuffle board, a mini golf course and a bird sanctuary stocked with ducks and fish in the creek that runs along the back of the resort. We took a nature walk at night which was beautifully lit with lights wrapped around the trees that sparkled and we saw a pack of wild Javelins, and the kids got to feed them apples and hear them snort and grunt as they ate.
Each trip to Sedona holds a special place in our hearts, and we will continue our expeditions each and every year.
